Summer skiing

Ski right into the summer on the Plateau Rosà, at the foot of the Matterhorn

It’s summer. The sun is high in the sky, the snow is glimmering. This is Breuil-Cervinia, where great skiing awaits you at 3500 altitude on the Plateau Rosà glacier, even during July and August.

This is the largest skiable summer domain in Europe: approx. 25 km of piste to meet all technical demands, from beginners to professionals.
A double ski season on the wonderful slopes, whose dimensions, quality of snow and variety of techniques are worthy of the same esteem as their winter counterparts. You can ski in the wide, sunny valley of Plateau Rosà, also using the Piccolo Cervino cableway (3.883) on Swiss territory. Lots of snow, long trails, special slopes for all levels and specialities of alpine skiing, slaloms, giant skiing, downhill and SuperG: it’s no wonder that, during the hot summer months, Breuil-Cervinia is the favourite destination of many important World Cup teams.

Not only for skis but also snowboards in the Gravity Park that has now made history with the riders. Plateau Rosà is easy and convenient to reach with the modern panoramic cable car, which takes you from Cime Bianche Laghi in one go to your destination, just half an hour away from the town of Cervinia.

IIt is also possible to reach on skis, or by crossing the glacier on foot with adequate climbing equipment and preferably with a mountain guide, the arrival of the Little Matterhorn cable car where the ice cave is located. This "Grotta di ghiaccio", one of the wonders of the Alps, is open every day for visits to this tunnel 50 metres long at a depth of 15 metres.
