Monterosa Ski Resort - Gressoney-La-Trinité
Monterosa Ski links three alpine valleys into a single ski area, in the sight of the Monte Rosa massif, between the Valle d’Aosta and Piemonte regions. It has always been popular with the most demanding skiers thanks to the carefully maintained runs and the superb technological standards of the lifts. 100 kilometres of runs and 8 alpine towns and villages (Antagnod, Alagna, Alpe di Mera, Brusson, Champoluc-Frachey,Champorcher,Gressoney-La-Trinité, Gressoney-Saint-Jean) that can be accessed with just one ticket and that link the valleys, equipped with 765 artificial snow cover points, thus offering skiers around 100 km of runs even when snow is scarce.
Gressoney-La-Trinité sits at the foot of Monte Rosa, and has always been a popular tourist destination all year round. The town boasts an interesting history and an unusually attractive blend of the facilities of a modern tourist resort and the charm of an ancient alpine village, with its typical “Walser” constructions. The beating heart of the main Monterosa Ski area, its slopes boast superb runs and breathtaking routes. It is the ideal base to make the most of the inter-valley connections with Champoluc through the Bettaforca Pass (2.727 m) and with Alagna through the Salati Pass (2.971 m), but between the Gabiet and the splendid Punta Jolanda area it is possible to enjoy a pleasant internal route, the jewel in the crown of which is the historic “Gialla” run, a thrilling experience reserved for expert skiers. Skiing in Gressoney offers the opportunity to use fast, ultra-modern lifts and powerful programmed snow cover facilities.
