In the highest part of Nus, at the top of the Saint Barthélemy Valley, stands the sanctuary of Notre-Dame des Neiges of Cunéy at an altitude of 2652 m which qualifies it as the highest sanctuary in Europe. The chapel is located near a spring, in an alpine scenery of fascinating beauty, about 2h30 walk from the locality of Porliod, along a transit route already used in the past time which still allows walkers to reach Valpelline and Valtournenche. The foundation date of the sanctuary dates back to 1659.

During this day the access dirt roads will be open to transit. The last stretch is on an easy path for about 45 minutes.
