Recommended/mandatory clothing, equipment and materials: mountain layered clothing, waterproof and windproof jacket, cap / hat, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, personal medicines, mask and disinfectant gel, sticks, water / drinks throughout the day, snacks & packed lunches, watercolor kit. Check the condition of the hiking boots & backpack at the start. These are two fundamental elements for your safety and comfort.
Participation fee: 160 € per person for accompanying guide, RC insurance and lessons by Marcella Pralormo + hotel Monte Cervino with B&B treatment in the room chosen from the following options:

+ dinner on Saturday evening in a restaurant in the area. Price to be agreed, waiting to form the group to understand the needs of each and then organize.

+ basic watercolor kit in case you don’t have it equal to 26 € (travel color box, brush, pencil) & 18 € travel booklet for painting.

Personal and travel expenses not indicated are excluded from the fee.

In case of bad weather: the excursion may be canceled, interrupted or subject to changes in the event of unfavorable weather conditions.
Other useful information: each participant will reach the starting point each with their own car and following the foreseen COVID 19 rules. It will be mandatory to have a mask that will be worn during rest periods and when requested by the guide. Everyone must bring the disinfected gel with them, respect the distance and avoid the exchange of objects, drinks, food with other participants who are not part of the family unit. Throughout the excursion, the rules for spacing will be adhered to.

The weekend Trekking & Watercolor was born from a meeting of two interests: walking in the mountains and painting as a travelogue. The excursions in nature in the company of the guide Raffaella Cinti are small trips and precious opportunities to identify with natural objects and observe carefully. And the development of these skills is very useful for painting.

The art historian Marcella Pralormo will lead and help you in this path of identification, observation and creative expression. And with her you will learn how to paint our favorite mountains in watercolor. Suitable for everyone, even beginners, his lessons will take their cue from the story of Turner’s two trips to Italy, during which the English artist had crossed Mont Blanc and had portrayed the mountains of the Aosta Valley.

Marcella will show you the features and techniques of Turner’s luminous watercolors. Drawing inspiration from his works, we will learn to draw and paint the mountains of the Ayas Valley in watercolor with a quick and easy technique.

The program includes two walking tours (one on Saturday and one on Sunday) plus:

1 conversation on Turner and his watercolors with in-depth analysis of his works in the Aosta Valley
1 en plein air watercolor lesson
1 lesson to develop one’s creativity through the collection, study, and, subsequently, the drawing of natural elements of the mountain landscape (for example: fallen branches, stones, pine cones, leaves, etc.)

Marcella Pralormo is an art historian, museum professional, expert in artistic techniques and author of the book “Watercolor in Piedmont from the 1800s to today” and watercolor painter. For years he has painted his carnets de voyage in memory of his holidays.
