Hike to the Bivouac Città di Mariano

Circular excursion with a classic climb to the bivouac which will then lead to the little-frequented Gran Lago.

On the way back, continue after the bivouac towards Gobba Di Rollin at the foot of the Aventine glacier until reaching the path that goes up to Colle delle Cime Bianche.

The nice bivouac altitude is at 2860m

Recommended clothing, equipment and materials:

  • Hiking boots in excellent condition
  • Spacious backpack for the trek
  • Water bottle / thermos
  • Snacks & packed lunch
  • Seasonal layered clothing
  • Rainproof & windproof jacket
  • Walking sticks recommended

In case of bad weather: the excursion will be postponed to a later date

The climb develops in a very beaten initial stretch in the woods and then continues up to Pian di Tzere, an area not very frequented by mass tourism.

From here we continue towards the Palon di Tzere and then tackle the last stretch among the rocks which quickly leads to the bivouac.

During the route we will take some breaks to observe the landscape and perhaps eat a bar.
