Weekend trekking: ring hike at Tournalin

Backpacking weekend. We will walk through woods, alpine meadows and climb some of the most panoramic peaks in the Val d'Ayas, at least one of which is at 3000m. 

Day 1 - approach to the Gran Tournalin refuge and possible climb to Monte Croce for those who still have energy. 

Day 2 - climb to at least one of the 3000m just above the refuge (Becca Trecarè and/or Falconetta). Let's close the ring and toast the arrival.

Suitable for:

  • those who dream of spending a night in an ancient, intimate mountain hut at the foot of a glacier,
  • those who want to venture above 3000 meters with the assistance and companionship of a local guide
  • those who have legs already trained enough to cover the altitude difference of the two days.

Estimated walking time: every day we'll walk around 4 or 5 hours

Difference in height: Day 1: +850 m/1000 m; Day 2: +500/750m e -1300/1500m

Recommended clothing, equipment and materials:

  • Hiking boots in excellent condition
  • Spacious backpack for the two-day trek
  • Water bottle / thermos
  • Snacks & packed lunch for the first day
  • Sheet bag
  • Seasonal layered clothing
  • Rainproof & windproof jacket
  • Walking sticks recommended
  • Possibility to buy packed lunch for the second day at the refuge
