Nature
Located in a landscape of rare beauty in the sight of Europe's highest mountains, the Valdigne is a natural basin that sits at the foot of Mont Blanc.
Nature is constantly in evidence throughout this unspoilt mountain landscape, with its wide open spaces scattered with glaciers, lakes and peaks of over 4000 metres, from which spectacular views can be admired.
The highest mountains in the Alps, Mont Blanc , the Rutor , the Grandes Jorasses, the Dente del Gigante, the Dames Anglaises, the Miage and Brenva glaciers create a marvellous backdrop, which changes colour from season to season, offering unforgettable views. Throughout the Valdigne, water plays a decisive, spectacular role in the landscape: from the Lenteney and Rutor waterfalls to the Ravine of Pré-Saint-Didier, as well as dozens upon dozens of lakes , the most famous of which include Arpy, Pietra Rossa, Bella Comba, Licony and Verney, where you can enjoy the spectacle of the sky reflecting on the water, while the colours of Lake Miage vary widely from one season to the next as the glacier melts.
The two alpine gardens of Chanousia and Saussurea and the Abbé Henry Park are sure to enthrall anyone interested in alpine plant species, of which a huge variety can be admired.
